IHPIPO'TO'TSP is supported by an RO1 from the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute awarded to Professor John-Henderson and Associate Professor Annie Ginty of Baylor University and Betty Henderson-Matthews of Blackfeet Community College (R01HL163237). The project is based on a long-standing partnership with members of the Blackfeet community and faculty, staff and students at Blackfeet Community College. In this study, we investigate the relationship between various risk and resilience factors with psychophyiological responses to an acute lab stressor in young Blackfeet American Indian adults. The goal is to better understand psychophysiological responses to stress in this community, and understand how distinct patterns relate to risk for cardiometabolic disease and poor mental health.
